Go red…in honor of American Heart Month keep your heart in check by following these simple tips
- Check your family history for heart disease
- Know your numbers (total cholesterol, including HDL & LDL cholesterol)
- Don’t smoke & avoid secondhand smoke
- Drink in moderation
- Get active-at least 30 minutes a day of exercise
- Eat a heart-healthy diet (foods low in saturated and trans fat, cholesterol, sodium and added sugars)
